Bono Mack Announces Solar Energy Field Hearing in Palm Desert

Washington, Apr 30, 2009 - Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (CA-45) today announced that the House Natural Resources Committee will hold a field hearing on “Solar Energy Development on Federal Lands: The Road to Consensus” on Monday, May 11, 2009, at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) Palm Desert Graduate Center. Bono Mack will be joined by key witnesses and experts to discuss the responsible expansion of solar energy in California and across the nation.

“Our region is rich in renewable energy resources, and it is essential that we work to maximize this potential in the most environmentally-sound and economically beneficial way,” said Bono Mack. “It’s exciting to see this federal field hearing taking place in our community, where we will examine both the challenges and proactive steps we can take to reach a bipartisan, thoughtful approach to solar energy development on federal lands.”
